PULSE เป็นสตูดิโออัลบั้มเต็มชุดแรกของ GONUNMA (James Hwang) และเป็นผลงานแรกหลังการก่อตั้ง J.H Company และการทำ partnership กับ Warner Music Korea โดยบันทึกเสียงระหว่างเดือนมกราคม–ธันวาคม 2022 และนำกลับมา rework ในช่วงต้นปี 2023 เพื่อปรับโครงสร้างให้เหมาะกับ performance rollout ระดับ global กระบวนการผลิตอัลบั้มมีลักษณะเป็น artist-driven production workflow อย่างชัดเจน โดย James สร้าง demo ทุกเพลงด้วยตนเอง (melody, topline และ rough arrangement) ก่อนส่งต่อ collaborator ภายนอกช่วย texture enhancement และนำกลับมา re-arrange เพื่อกำหนด final sonic direction ด้วยตนเอง เครดิต production ของอัลบั้มจึงสะท้อนรูปแบบ artist-controlled production with external texture collaborators และถือเป็น release แรกที่เขาควบคุม arrangement ทั้งอัลบั้มด้วยตนเองครบทุกเพลง

ในเชิงดนตรี PULSE ผสมผสาน Contemporary R&B, Synth Funk, Dance-Pop, Indie Pop และ Bedroom Pop โดยขยาย sonic scale จาก SOFTEST TOUCH ไปสู่โครงสร้างที่ performance-oriented และ global-friendly มากขึ้น ลักษณะเด่นของอัลบั้ม ได้แก่
